My experience on vacation in Komodo Why Sailing to Komodo National Park has been my favorite vacation on my life. I have traveled to many parts of the world, but it took along time before I made to East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Also known as Flores. I had traveled to Jakarta and Bali, and so many travellers told me about how great Komodo Boat Tours were for going to see the islands, Komodo Dragons, and also scuba diving. I love to scuba dive, so scuba diving in Komodo was a dream of mine.
I first started in Bali and took a flight from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo airport. When I first started the locals treated me so good. They come from a culture in that area called Manggarai in that area. They were so friendly and taught me many things about Flores Indonesia and the Park. I learn the Komodo National Park was declared a World Heritage Site, and reserved by UNESCO by 1991. There are so many islands to visit and you can take boat tours to many off them. As far as Komodo Dragons, they live on Komodo Island and also Rinca Island. You can visit both islands to see Komodo Dragons. Scuba diving is also a very popular thing to do in the park. The most famous islands are Padar Island, Kelor Island, Batu Bolong, Gili Lawa, Manta Point, Kanawa, and Rinca Island. It is also a very great place to see Manta Rays. You can scuba diving with them an also snorkel with them. There are day tours you can take and also muti day liveaboards that you can take. Some people choose to stay for only 1 day and some people choose a 2 day/1 night, or 3 day/1 night boat trip. These boats sail around the island and make stops and many of the popular islands to snorkel, lay on the beach, hike, or see Komodo Dragons. I decided to go out for 3 days and 2 nights. We hiked up to the top of Padar Island for an incredible sunrise. I was so impressed with the beautiful beaches and views you could see from the top. We also saw 3 Komodo Dragons on Komodo Island and did a medium hike there. The ranger was very knowledgeable and taught us many things about the wild animals and living local life. We went to Pink beach and did some great snorkelling and relaxing. Our guide was also very good at snorkeling and showed us many things that I had not seen before. I was so impressed with the plethora of aquatic life that we could see in the crystal clear water. We also got to swim with Manta rays which was probably one of the coolest things I have ever done in my life. They was so graceful and swim all around us. There was about 10 of them and it was almost as if they were giving us a personal show of dancing in the water. We also did a sunset trek up at the north part of the park at Gili Lawa. This was a great hike and the sunset was so beautiful to see. Our boat was very comfortable and the guide was extremely funny and knowledgeable about Komodo and all the different thing to know about it. When we arrived back in Labuan Bajo, I enjoy the mainland for a couple of days. The locals of Manggarai culture were always so friendly and kind. They always offered me a cup of local coffee. I plan on coming back to East Nusa Tenggara for sure. Flores Is now one of my new favorite places to visit in the world. I hope to do Flores Land Tours when I come back, because I know the main Island is also amazing to see. I hope to make it to Bajawa, Bena Village, Wae Rebo Traditional Village, Kelimutu, and Ende. I hope this information helped anyone that is considering visiting Flores Indonesia in East Nusa Tenggara. If so, make sure to take a Komodo Boat trip.
