Known for its dramatic landscape, deep overhang, and occasional strong currents, this site offers a unique and thrilling experience for advanced divers looking to explore a more adventurous part of Komodo National Park. We frequently visit Police corner on our Komodo Daily Fun Dive trips.

What Makes Police Corner Special?

Police Corner is defined by its massive overhang, forming a wide cave-like structure that feels like entering a natural underwater cathedral. The scale of the feature is breathtaking — a huge shadowy opening carved into the reef wall with space for divers to explore underneath when the current allows.
One of the most magical sights happens when you ascend above the overhang:
You can look down and see streams of bubbles rising through the coral, coming from the divers below inside the overhang. It’s a rare and beautiful visual effect that makes this dive unlike anything else in Komodo.

Police Corner is considered Advanced due to:

• Depth: The dive often extends into deeper areas depending on the route.
• Currents: The site can experience occasional or sudden currents that require comfort, control, and strong buoyancy skills.
• Topography: The large cavern/overhang feature requires proper positioning, awareness, and safe planning.

What You’ll See at Police Corner

The reef around the overhang is full of life, offering a beautiful mix of wide-angle and macro subjects. Marine life may include:

• colorful reef fish schools
  
• anthias and fusiliers above the coral slope
  
• groupers hiding around the rocks
  
• trevallies patrolling the blue
  
• nudibranchs and macro critters
  
• occasional turtles cruising along the edge
  

The topography is the star here: dramatic rock walls, swim-through feel, and a spacious overhang that creates an unforgettable visual experience.
