There are many great restaurants which offer spectacular ocean and sunset views. One thing to remember, if you are getting a hotel or airbnb, make sure to get one with a nice view of the ocean and sunset. At night time, you will see why it was worth it. Of course the main two attractions leave from Labuan Bajo, which are seeing the Komodo Dragons and snorkelling or scuba diving in Komodo National Park. The two island where you can see Komodo Dragons are Komodo Island and Rinca Island. Each one is about 1-2 boat ride from Labuan Bajo. Any popular question we get is how to get around Labuan Bajo? There three main options if you are not taken a guided city tour. - Public Transportation. As far is in the town, there are no public buses, but demos and ojeks (motorized minibuses and scooters) run along most of the main routes. - Car or motor bike. There a few companies that offer car and motorbike rentals There are many options in the town and depending how far your want to venture can determine your activities. One of the most popular places to see which is still in the city is Mirror Cave, also known as Batu Cermin Cave. This cave is in the dark stone hills on the outside of the town. It is located about four kilometres from the town’s center. This location is unique because the sun shines through a hole in the cave and bounces off of the stone walls which reflect small lights around the cave. This creates a mirror like effect, hence the name mirror cave or mirror rock. In the surrounding forests around Batu Cermin Cave, there are forests where you can also see long-tailed moneys and even sometimes wild boar.
While staying the town make sure to go to the local fish market where local fisherman sell a good selection of fresh fish with rice and fresh vegetables. As well, just doing along the coastal road to the north makes for a great time to see the natural beauty of the area all around.
As far as outside of the town, there are numerous things to do. You can take a boat tour to any of the amazing island in Komodo National Park. You can see real live Komodo Dragons. You can hike Padar Island, Lay out on Pink Beach, and even snorkel with Manta Rays at Manta Point. You can go to Rangko Cave and swim in the crystal clear water. Many visitors choose to go a little inland in Flores and visit some local villages and see a real local Caci dance at villages such as Tado Village. One of the most popular village to visit is Wae Rebo Tradional Village way up in the mountains. It is about a 5 hours drive and two hours hike to get to. If you are interested in a longer overland tour, you can visit places such as Luba Village and Kelimutu Lakes or look at other tour options.
