There are stairs about 75% of the way up, but it can still be hot and humid. Bringing water, shoes, and a good camera is recommended.
Pink Beach is located on Komodo Island and is also stunningly beautiful. The snorkelling and diving is very good for being so close to the shore line. Sometimes there is a little bit of current, so fins are recommended when in the water.

We think the best time to visit the National Park and Flores is going to typically be April to October. This time is during the dry season and if you go to the National Park right after the rainy season, if is absolutely a beautiful color of green. Komodo Dragons FAQ
• Komodo dragons are the largest species of lizard currently living, reaching up to 10 feet in length and weighing as much as 150 pounds.
• Contrary to their reputation as fierce predators, they are quite slow-moving and have a top speed of only 13 miles per hour.
• These lizards are indigenous to the Indonesian islands of Komodo and Rinca and have been known to swim long distances between islands.
• Komodo dragons are carnivores, eating nearly anything from carrion and other reptiles to birds and mammals. They have even been known to hunt and kill larger animals like deer and water buffalo.
• Komodo dragons are solitary and only socialize to mate or defend their territory.
• They are proficient swimmers and have an acute sense of smell, allowing them to detect carrion from up to 6 miles away.
• Unfortunately, these lizards are considered to be vulnerable to extinction, mostly due to habitat loss and hunting by humans.
• Komodo dragons are also well-known for their powerful venom, which they use to incapacitate their prey. This venom causes blood loss, muscle paralysis, and shock, making it easier for the dragon to consume its meal.
• Female Komodo dragons lay clutches of up to 30 eggs, which they bury and guard until they hatch.
Is it Better to Choose a Komodo Day Boat trip or a Liveaboard multi-day trip?
This depends on your schedule and how much time you have. In many of the day trips, you still get to go to the popular place in the Park, but you may only have about 45 minutes to 1 hours at each place. If you take a multi-day trip, you can take your time and see many more places while not feeling like you are rushed to hurry up and see the next place. On a liveaboard, you also can choose when you would like to visit some of the islands and this can potentially help with avoiding the crowds you may see in peak season.
Should I tip the crew on the Boat Trip?
This is completely up to you. We hope our crew goes above and beyond for all of the services we offer and you have a wonderful time. Tiping is not required, but obviously our crew will always be grateful for any extra gratitude you would like to give if you feel they earned it.
What should I wear in Town or while on the boat?
As in any place you visit, it is always polite to respect the culture and be aware of the local customs. As far as on the boat, the National park, has become an international tourist destination, so beach attire is completely normal now. As far as in the town, you may feel better to not walk around in bathing suits as you will not see the locals doing this.

Just a Few of Our Customer Reviews!
"We took a 2d1n trip with them.
From the very start we were very impressed with Ridwan our guide. He was very accomodating, great communication ability and his command in English. He is very knowledgeable and have never shyed from answering my 101 questions, my apologies for being such a curious cat.
Although there is a few hiccups at the start of the trip pertaining to the arrangements (But this is a separate issue with the operator), Ridwan was quick to jump in and assist me to get it sorted out. I find this very very comforting and commandable on his part, simply because it wasn't his responsibility but he took it upon himself to help us get it sorted out. A special thank you to you for this.
Food onboard is delicious! Kudos to Rian for the food, I even manage to get his omelette recipe. There are constant snacks and drinks that filled our trip such that we didn't even have a need to snack up or eat the instant noodle we brought onboard. Hehehe. My only regret is forgetting to ask Rian his watermelon juice recipe... it was amaze-balls!.
The rest of the crew were just amazinggggg! All of them are multitalented such that we do not need to rely on solely ridwan to communicate with us. Our trip was memorable and we bring back different memories with each and everyone of them.
Thank you Rian and Sabda for becoming our highlight entertainment, singing for us along the way. *Hint hint* If you're a talent agent you need to uncover this 2 gem.
Captain Sarif is knowledgeable and entertaining. We spend the night laughing non-stop at his jokes! His humour has distracted me from the fact that I was giddy onboard. Hhahaha.
Labuan Bajo is indeed freaking beautiful, the islands are all a gem. We saw beautiful huge mantas while snorkelling, we didnt get to see turtles butttttt.... we saw a baby shark. It's been awhile since I snorkled so I initially had some difficulty snorkling .. lo and behold Fadli was constantly around to check on me with his speedboat until I am comfortable. I am truly grateful to Fadli, because his presence provide a degree of comfort to me to not give up on the snorkeling activity. I think when we engaged a tour, we definitely want these kind of crews around to look out for us. #Blessed
Padar Island is indeed worth the hike, the view is just beautiful, Pink beach was a gem on its own..crystal clear water, beautiful corals and the best part is it was just us so it feels like our own little private beach.
And I highly recommend to engage them as their companion on its own is a standalone factor to make your trip memorable.
We were especially blessed considering Ridwan has amazing photography skills and he will always direct me to the best spot to take photos. He is such a nice person, that another group hijacked him from us while we are all resting at one of the destination, and he gladly accomodated them as well. I think this just speaks volume about his character as a person.
I've been to many trips and engaged many tours with guides, but I personally feel that Ridwan's dedication to his job and his skill has made him the best guide I have experience!
We had a blast living our life as "anak kapal" for 1 night, and for that we are trully grateful for the time and companion. We were truly entertained, and the experience we had were truly memorable. Thank you to every single one of the crew on this trip (Ridwan, Rian, Captain Sarif, Sabda, Fadli and Aprit), we are still reliving moments from this trip!”

"Absolutely wonderful 2 nights and 3 days doing dives and land through the Komodo island!! Couldn’t have asked for a better crew, who looked after us very well, with awareness and anticipation at all times. Great cook, captain , guide, and others !
Tis at the Maiko office was prompt and clear with all communication at all times and prides herself on ensuring a high level of service.
We are a family of four, including 2 children aged 14 and 10. My son, 14, have our Advanced PADI and we arranged and completed 2 dives a day. Many special sites!! So many highlights under, on and above water!”
Review from Aidan Le-Devenish
"We (family of 5) had a wonderful time on liveaboard. Special thanks goes to the crew, in particular diving guides Albert & Eden - they makes us feel secure as we are all beginner divers. Our kids loved amazing dives, komodo dragons, good food and great support from all the staff on the boat. Excellent experience. We'll come again. And memories will stay forever :) Last but not least, whole organization was just perfect, thanx Tis"
Review from Luka Peternel
"Loved our 3 day live-aboard boat tour with tour guide, Jo!!!! Food onboard was local, fresh, and delicious! Jo and the whole crew were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Our family of 3 had such a wonderful experience. Truly made our Indonesia trip memorable. I would 100% recommend Maika Komodo Tours. Thank you for providing such an amazing experience!"
Review from John Shimatto
"We did a 1 day private speed boat tour with Maika Komodo Tour. Everything was organized very easily by WhatsApp; Tis was very responsive and kind. The tour was good, and the guide was nice. The lunch was good. We visited Padar Island, Komodo National Park (where we saw two Komodo dragons), Pink Beach, then we did three snorkeling spots including Manta Point and a spot where we could see turtles. It was very nice. Maika Komodo Tour has good prices, probably the most competitive. I recommend it!"

"Loved our 3 day live-aboard boat tour with tour guide, Jo!!!! Food onboard was local, fresh, and delicious! Jo and the whole crew were incredibly kind and knowledgeable.
