Many Tourist come to Flores Island wanting to see Komodo Dragons but only have a short time here. With the Wae Rebo & Komodo Discovery trip option, it allows our guests to get to experience the beauty and natural essence of Komodo National Park and Flores mainland. This tour offers 2 days/1 night in Wae Rebo Traditional Village and 2 days/2 night cruising Komodo National Park on a Liveaboard boat. This is the perfect options for guests that want to spend half of their time on the ocean and beautiful islands and the other half of their time on the mainland, learning about the rich cultural heritage of the Flores People. Wae Rebo & Komodo Discovery Itinerary 4 days/3 nights
Day 1. Labuan Bajo - Tado - Lembor Rice Field - Nangalili - Denge Village - Wae Rebo Village Morning pick up at hotel/airport in Labuan Bajo. Photo stops on top of the mountain, stop in Tado Rice spiderweb rice field for snacks/bathroom, Lembor Rice Field (largest rice fields in West Flores,) (Optional Lunch in Lembor or Denge) Drive the coast of Nangalili, stop in Denge (optional lunch), Hike 2-3 hours to Wae Rebo Traditional Village. Overnight in Wae Rebo Village Day 2. Wae Rebo - Denge Village - Nagalili- Lembor - Cucun Wulang Waterfall Nature hike(optional) - Labuan Bajo Breakfast at Wae Rebo, time to explore the mountain village and visit with locals. Trek down to Denge Village - Drive back to Labuan Bajo. Multiple photo stops and optional hiking waterfall (2hours) at Cuncu Wulang. (Lunch at Lembor or Melo Cafe, before or after Cunca Wulang) Sunset at Bukit Sylvia Check in to Hotel and stay in Labuan Bajo Day 3. Labuan Bajo - Kelor - Padar Island- Kalong Breakfast at hotel - transfer to harbor to join the Liveaboard boat - boat to Kelor (beach and short trekking) - Padar Island (trekking) - Kalong (to see the giant flying bats) Overnight at Kalong Day 4 - Komodo Island - Pink Beach - Manta Point - Labuan Bajo Arrive at Komodo Island, (trekking to see Komodo dragons and local shopping) - Pink Beach -Manta Point (snorkeling with Mantas) - Back to Labuan Bajo. Transfer back to your hotel. |

Visiting Wae Rebo Traditional Village is an incredibly unique experience for anyone who gets the opportunity to do so. The customs and traditions you will learn about, have been passed down for multiple generations and just to experience the natural setting of the Village is an experience all in itself.
Wae Rebo Traditional Village received the Top Award of Excellence from UNESCO in the 2012 UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Awards. The village was recognized for its rebuilding of the traditional Mbaru Niang traditional house which is based on the spirit of community and cooperation towards a sustainable tradition. The Village is situated on around 1,100 meters above sea level and approximately 2 - 3 hour travel by foot from Denge Village, depending how fast or slow the hiking is. This amazing village is completely surrounded by mountains that offer a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. On a clear night, you will experience countless star above as their is no light pollution to disrupt the night sky. In the mountains, the air can get relatively cold, so we do recommend brining a jacket when you come to visit on your Wae Rebo/Komodo Discovery Tour.
