Komodo Tour Guide Interview.

(Interviewer) - Hello, and thank you for the time to tell us about your experience as a tour guide in Komodo National Park. Also what is so unique about visiting Komodo National Park? I am excited to hear some of your experiences and highlights while being taking guests on Komodo Tours.

(Tour Guide) - Thank you for asking me. I am always delighted to talk about one of my favourite places the world. Komodo National Park tours are something I think everyone should experience when they come to Indonesia. There are so many beautiful islands, pristine beaches, clear waters, beautiful coral, and of course Komodo Dragons. I have traveled to many parts of Indonesia and especially Bali, but coming to the National Park is always my favorite place to show guests.

I- Well, why don’t I start with advice. If you were to give advice to someone coming to Komodo, or Flores Indonesia, what would you do to have the perfect vacation?

G- That is a great question and straight to the point. Well unfortunately there are not many ways to do a Komodo Island tour from Bali so I would recommend flying in to Labuan Bajo and booking a 3 day Komodo liveaboard. I think this is the best way to see what the National Park has to offer. If you are a certified scuba diver, it is also quite amazing to scuba dive Komodo as well. First I would find a nice liveaboard to spend your time on. My favourite is Queenesia II liveaboard. It is absolutely stunning and built very well for scuba diving. I would include my all of the guest favorite locations, and mine as well. I would would say you have to do a sunrise trek up to Padar Island. This is in the center off the National Park, and offer amazing 360 views. You can see 4 different color beaches form the top. Of course, everyone need to visit Komodo Island as well. If you are coming to this area of the world, you have to see the famous Komodo Dragons. There are different option for hiking, but usually we do the medium hike and you can usually see Komodos in the wild and on the beach. You can most always get some great photos of them with some help from the local rangers.

I- Ok, great advice. should guest be concerned about their safety when being around Komodo Dragons?

G- Well, Yes, the Komodo dragons can be dangerous, but as long as you keep your distance and follow the local rangers instructions, you will be fine. The island usually gets hundreds of visitors every day.

I- Ok, Yes that makes sense. Always follow the guide. Great advice. So those are your two favorite places, but what if someone wanted to put together an entire Komodo Tour Package?

G- Well, yes those are great locations, but there are so many more as well. Pink Beach Komodo is absolutely stunning. The sand is actually pink for the coral on the beach and the snorkelling is fantastic! You can see so many different kinds of coral. Another place I love to go is Manta Point. This is where we can usually see manta rays swimming all around. Especially in the rainy season. They come here because of the different cleaning stations and as well, they feed on agains the current. There have been times when I have seen up to 15 Manta rays. It is always an incredible experience. It is also great to scuba diving Manta Point Komodo.

I- Wow…I can’t imagine being surrounded by so many manta rays. I think Manta point would problem be one of my favourite places as well. That must be such an exhilarating experience. So you think for the best Komodo Island Boat tour, those places should always be a part of the Komodo Tour Package?

G- Yes for sure. There are also other locations to add as well, such as Kanawa Island, which has beautiful beach and great for snorkeling as well. Taka Makassar is a favorite of many guests as well. It is a crescent shaped beach in the middle of the National Park, and have amazing turquoise water all around it. It is as great place to take photos on the beach. If you are a diver, there are also great places such as Batu Bolong, Castle Rock, Crystal Rock, Mayan Island, Siaba Besar, and many more. Just depends on the season, tides, and the kind of scuba diving you are looking for.

I- Ok, great answer. I hope are readers are taking notes. Did you say you would recommend Queenesia II Liveaboard or are there other boats you like.

G- Oh yes, there are many boats, I just think Queenesia II is my favorite one of all of the them. It is very big and guests have a lot of room to feel like they can move around and be free while on a boat.
